As teachers head back to school across the United States, many are
holding out hope that they’ll find more technology in their classrooms
this year. According to a recent PBS LearningMedia Survey, more than
two-thirds of U.S. PK– 12 teachers want access to more ed tech.
As it is, 90% of respondents have at least one computer in their
classroom, and 59% use an interactive whiteboard. Nearly half teach
with the help of websites and online lesson plans, games, video, im-
ages, and articles. Tablets and e-readers were the platforms with the
biggest increase in use: 35% of teachers said they now have access
to a tablet or e-reader in their classroom, up from 20% a year ago.
