IGNITING A SPARK
Students Unleashed Potential
The word educate is Latin for
“unleashing potential.” We want our
kids to know that at their very core is
something good and uniquely special
about them, to know they matter and
the world needs their personal talents.
The I-imagine project made a lasting
impression on teachers, counselors, administrators, and media, who took every opportunity to peek in, engage, and
experience the project with students.
All recognized it as a chance to celebrate Minot’s youth as they unleashed
their potential. Minot is known as the
Magic City, and our students provided
a magical experience beyond expectations. We were all humbled by their
stories and personal investment.

instructor at Minot Public Schools in North
Dakota, USA, and co-chair of ISTE’s SIG for
Digital Storytelling. She enjoys bringing a-ha
moments to educators and students via tech
integration, differentiated instruction, and
digital storytelling.
—Bernajean Porter works globally as a
futurist, speaker, media maker, author,
online teacher, workshop leader, possibilities
coach, and co-chair of ISTE’s SIG for Digital
Storytelling. She is an enthusiastic promoter
of anything that increases joy for learners
of all ages.
