Inspire, Captivate, Motivate
connect
Diana Fingal says in her article on page 12, “Great teachers don’t just teach. They
inspire, they captivate, and
they motivate their stu-dents.…” In this issue, we
celebrate ISTE’s 2012 award
winners and other excellent educators who inspire,
captivate, and motivate not
just their students, but, in
some cases, administrators,
parents, and communities
as well.
Pursuing excellence can
be extremely challenging, of
course. Providing students
with rich, authentic learn-
ing experiences to unlock
their potential is hard work.
Explaining complex content
in clear terms, accounting
for different learning styles,
designing activities to meet
several sets of standards,
and incorporating technol-
ogy effectively are just some
of the herculean tasks edu-
cators tackle daily to create
a single good lesson plan.
