ISTE Authors Launch Flipped Learning Network
Flipped learning pioneers and ISTE authors Jonathan Bergmann
and Aaron Sams have launched the Flipped Learning Network
( flippedlearning.org), a nonprofit organization for teachers interested in the flipped learning ideology.
Flipped learning is when the teacher’s lecture is delivered on
video as homework and class time is devoted to active problem
solving and individual or small-group tutoring.
Bergmann and Sams built the Flipped Learning Network
to continue the discussion about this new classroom model
described in their book Flip Your Classroom: Reach Every
Student in Every Class Every Day (
iste.org/flippr). The goal is
to provide educators with the knowledge, skills, and resources
to successfully implement flipped learning.
The network will host the annual Flipped Conference and
regional training workshops and will coordinate the Teacher Vod-casting and Flipped Learning Network Ning Community, where
thousands of educators participate in flipped educator groups and
discussion forums.
