A roadmap that delivers fundamental skills
for a globally competitive student
The NETS provide the pathway for students to build
the global skills they need for the global competition
they will face.
Most educational standards apply to a specific
content area. The NETS are not subject-matter
specific, but rather a compendium of skills required
for students to be competitive and successful in a
global and digital world.
The NETS transform how students learn and
how teachers teach.
ISTE pioneered the development of technology standards
more than 10 years ago in a unique partnership with
teachers and teacher educators, curriculum and education
associations, government, business, and private foundations.
The standards have been recently updated and released.
