In world and out, Second Life continues to generate buzz about its potential as an engaging
educational tool. You can learn more from the comfort of your own home by participating
in the education track of the Second Life Community Convention September 5–7. Educators from around the world will present research papers, lead tours, host workshops, and

Learning & Leading with Technology has won a Gold Circle Award from
the American Society for Association Executives for the feature article
“Real-Life Migrants on the MUVE: Stories of Virtual Transitions”
by ISTE members Ross A. Perkins and Cathy Arreguin (L&L May
2007, pp. 16–20). e article, which was recognized for excellence
in the writing category, describes how educators are using
virtual environments such as Second Life to improve teaching
L&L Wins Writing Award
