iPads do not offer the size of a laptop or a true keyboard, but the ability
to simultaneously use apps to manipulate concepts and access websites
outweighs the device’s limitations.
In the Future
The lesson was successful because stu-
dents could see, hear, and do someting
at each station to better understand
the material. The craft station allowed
students to spend time searching their
textbooks, reading the material, and
creating their own products. The laptop
station presented the material in an
interactive way and allowed students
to test what they had learned. The iPad
station offered interactive experiences
unlike any others students have had in
the past. I think it was more valuable to
the students than the other two stations
because they enjoyed it more. The next
day, students were still talking about
what they had done in the Explore
section of the Mitosis app.
