The Bill of Rights Institute has released a new game, Life
Without the Bill of Rights? This free click-and-explore
activity asks students
to consider how life
would change without
some of our most
cherished freedoms.
Life Without the Bill
of Rights? invites students to understand the significance of their constitutionally
protected rights, including freedom of religion, speech, and
press; freedom from unreasonable search and seizure; and
the rights of private property. Other free resources include
an interactive module that allows students to “travel through
time” to converse with the Founding Fathers and report on
the Constitutional Convention.

U.S. K– 12 students are invited to enter the Siemens We
Can Change the World Challenge, a program that en-
courages students and teachers nationwide to become
“agents of change” in
identifying and solving
environmental problems.
After expanding last year
to include elementary
school students, this
year the challenge is
turning to the nation’s
high school students
to identify and address
environmental issues. In keeping with the overall mission
to build a more sustainable world, high school students will
focus on energy-related issues using scientific investigation,
and they will create a replicable solution using Web-based
curriculum tools powered by Discovery Education. The dead-
line for entries is March 31.

School yearbook maker Jostens has introduced Personal
Yearbook Pages, a new application that gives students
the ability to cre-
ate personalized
pages that will
appear exclusively
in the student’s
copy of the year-
book. Personal
Yearbook Pages
allows students
to design four
unique pages with
their own photos, artwork, and text. They can even invite
friends to collaborate on the design of one or more pages.
Students can create their own layouts and select their own
fonts, color, and background, and they can retrieve photos
from Facebook or Flickr.
