February is Member Appreciation
Month, when we get to celebrate
and pamper you a little for the
incredible work you do every day in
classrooms, libraries, administration
offices, service centers, and universities. ISTE is a strong and vibrant organization because of your important
contributions.
To show how much we appreciate
what you bring to your association,
we’re offering prizes, specials, and a
chance to enhance your ISTE membership this month.
Gifts, Contests, Prizes
ISTE members will be automatically
included in drawings for ISTE books,
NECC and webinar registrations,
and other great prizes. Winners will
be announced weekly on ISTE’s Web
site, www.iste.org.
In addition, all members are invited
to attend a free ISTE professional development webinar on using Web 2.0
tools in the classroom.
Professional Educator Networks
Did you know that more than 20,000
educators in more than 75 countries
are ISTE members? ISTE members
are constantly exploring what’s new
and are embracing Web 2.0 tools for
professional development and social
networking. We encourage you to join
one or more of our educator networks
to share insights, challenges, and best
practices with your peers—both in your
neighborhood and around the globe.
Pictured above is our newest network, ISTE’s Community Ning. A
Ning is a social networking site where
members can easily create groups,
post news, maintain a blog, and hold
forum discussions. Visit www.iste-community.org and create a profile
to join the conversation.
Other vibrant professional educator
networks available free to ISTE members include:
• ISTE’s Second Life Group, ISTE Island,
which is now one of the most popular
educational destinations and groups in
this multi-user virtual environment
• ISTE’s 18 Special Interest Groups,
inlcuding six new SIGs
• The NECC Conference Ning
• ISTE’s LinkedIn and Facebook
